In the last year we have done, felt and seen much. We have had some scares, laughed, cried, persevered, and had one of the greatest blessings of our lives...Our Little Baby Girl. Who knew becoming parents would be one of the greatest things this world has to offer. We found out we were pregnant a little past the last post, around August 18th. I had not been feeling myself for a couple weeks. I heard my mom talking to my sister about what she felt like when she had been pregnant and immediately after that we left, went to the store and got a pregnancy test! From that moment on our lives changed. In and out of Dr appointments, gagging at everything I saw, heard, and smelt. I was terrified. Mr Beeb was over the moon! I think our roles switched somewhere along the line and continue to do so.
Before this happened My Mr. gave me a blessing, school, work, and life circumstances had begun to way upon my heart and mind, I needed a calm assurance that everything would be ok. My Sweet man began the blessing as if to name a child, he quickly started over and corrected himself...but that left my mind wondering. It has been quite interesting how the power of the priesthood had been a constant through out my pregnancy. This sweet man of mine continued to give me blessings when things just became a little to much (Emotionally more than anything) and near the end I knew in my heart that my stress of life was preventing her from coming to us. I told my Mr. "If I can just calm my stress levels, I know she will come..." Again he gave me a blessing....the last before she came. In the blessing he said " I bless your body, heart, and mind to be able to relax, so that our little girl, who has chosen to come to earth at this time, may be able to come to this earth." The very next day I felt different, I felt she would be coming soon..I even told a girl at work, I may not becoming in the next day. That morning at 3 am I woke up to some pretty gnarly contractions (which I just assumed were braxton hicks contractions.) I hopped in the shower to get some heat on my back, The shower was long and glorious, so long the water got cold. I hoped out and started pacing the floor. 5:30 am rolled around and I finally decided to wake my husband up! I also gave my mother a call and said mom "How do I know when I should go in?" When she learned I had been up since 3am she said...with the most concerning excitement" you should probably go in Aim." We threw together our hospital bag (Which was semi-packed because I wasn't due for another couple weeks) and off we went!
The car ride there was the worst...I couldn't move so the contractions just felt like I was being torn in half every 2 minutes. When I got to the hospital the woman at the check in in labor and delivery asked "what can I help you with..." in my brain my reply was " ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU CAN HELP US WITH?!?!?...YOU MORON!!!" but instead...I walked away and just breathed through the contraction that was amping up while my sweetheart calmly said "I think my wife is having our baby today." They had us wait for a couple hours to make sure I would dilate. I paced the floor and felt like everyone could see my behind in the hospital gown, but...I didn't care. When they finally admitted us I was already half way dilated and fully effaced.
Another 45 minutes passed and the man sent from heaven with the scary needle and heavenly drugs came. As soon as he placed the epidural, my water broke. That was the weirdest feeling. Luckily I was able to feel my contractions still, just without the pain. So when the time came to push, I PUSHED...so hard my face would turn red (or so I have heard.) I pushed and pushed...for 3 hours. Just before our little Em came, I knew if I could just push a little longer than I normally was pushing she would come...So I PUSHED, and my cheering squad of MD's, Nurses, my hubby, mother, and sister all watched as she came out in her bloody beautiful glory. They wiped her off and let me snuggle her for a blink, then took her to do some tests. I watched as my husband followed that little bug around the room. He held her hands as she got her shots, calmed her with his voice, and almost instantly his heart melted. I watched my sweetheart finally get to meet our little baby girl! Those moments in the hospital were a miracle, the most tender moments life has given me to experience. Together we just accomplished something greater than we ever had before. Together we made a family.
5 months have passed now and we have had so much fun watching this little tiny bug, turn into the most animated, talkative, smiliest, loving little thing. We have learned lessons of heaven from her that we would never have learned if we had just kept it the two of us. I Love being a mother and I know my sweetheart Adores being a daddy to his little princess, and a GREAT daddy he is!
