Count your many blessings!

October!!!What a month it was....full of adventure, giggles, and fun! We did quite a bit last month, enough for me not posting much! the month began with our anniversary (which is spoken of in previous post), then Brother B's wedding, Halloween, and Brother A's farewell. I also got some nasty cold in the midst of all of that which took me behind in a lot of things, school, work, home, etc, however, all is currently well and catch up is almost done!

With Brother A's leaving came a new sense of gospel regeneration in both Mr Beeb and I. We have been very humbled at the strength of He and his former fiancee'. It is purely incredible what some will do when they know there is a higher power guiding the way, they both have been such strong pillars of faith amid all of their trials and we are very grateful for their example. With Brother A's leaving I recommitted myself to strengthen the important parts of me, my testimony and knowledge of the gospel through study, prayer, fasting, and a more diligent effort to be the helping hand the Lord needs me to be for him. Mr. Beeb and I have noticed such a difference in our lives as we are turning our hearts to our father. True we feel more tried in ways we would not have imagined, but, as we hold to the rod we see that the Lord is just purifying us for future events! We are learning that life is not always what you think it will be like. Things come in time, as they are needed not desired, and in  learning patience you truly do posses your soul.

School has been quite challenging for me this semester so the idea of it getting harder scares me to death. If you ask Mr. Beeb what I have been like lately his reply would most likely be...in the sweetest words possible.." A basket case." He has been so very patient with me, so supportive of my efforts and, so willing to help when I need him most. This was shown to me in a very big way this month already by his sacrificing of his hard work to help pay some debts that we a-crewed. Boy was that a humbling moment in time!

We are both very much looking forward to November! Not only do we become more aware of our blessings this month, but it is one month closer to the month where we reflect on the greatest gift of all. Our savior Jesus Christ. I personally love this time of year, gift giving to brighten one's day, the cold crisp air, and the feeling that comes as people remember the savior and the sacrifice he made for us all. Plus, we have a fun trip planned! going to visit Mr. Beebs mission (my very first time there! YAY!) On that note, many people have been listing a blessing for everyday in November....I think it is a FANTASTIC idea...here it goes!

  1. A wise and loving Father in Heaven, who always knows whats best.
  2. The greatest older brother, Jesus Christ, his life, ministry, mission, and sacrifice.
  3. The Gospel of Jesus Christ which gives us all the gift of faith for something more than this life we are living, points us on a straighter course, and gives the world a power greater than its own...the priesthood.
  4. Temples on earth, and the ability they have to turn our hearts to our fathers and their hearts to ours as we perform ordinances as well as the ceiling covenant performed therein.
  5. Being married to the most wonderful man heaven could have blessed me with.
  6. Missions and how both of our perspectives have changed because of them.
  7. A Living prophet, and apostles who lift our hearts with comfort and remind us where to look in time of need.
  8. A loving family who offers strength, words of wisdom, bellyaching laughs, and the warmest hugs.
  9. Music and the inspiration it can be when nothing else seems to fit the place in your heart it touches.
  10. Education and the ability to make our minds stronger in many different ways.
  11. A Roof over our heads to keep us warm, and to decorate!
  12. True friends who are at times the strength you need to carry on and laughs to smile.
  13. Love and how it heals wounds you didn't know existed.
  14. The beauty of the earth and sights we can see daily that lift our soul.
  15. Animals that brighten our day...(tootles...and Dottie)...yes we did get another bird! She is beautiful!
Whelp, that's all for now folks!

Mango Salsa

So, despite all of our adventures the time we have to post has been growing thin due to our work and school schedules, but boy do we have stories for you! Our primary class is still the cutest ever and i am sure if we thought hard enough we would have more stories for you, but we have so much more for you to enjoy. This month is a very important one for us simply  because it was one year ago that we were sealed for time and all eternity!!! whooooo! The month began with our mission reunions, luckily Mr. Beebs fell on a different day than mine so we were able to attend his, unfortunately he had to work on mine, but it was so fun for both of us to enjoy our old friendships. At my reunion one of the elders bore his testimony and spoke about how he was sooo excited to become a father, but that part of him was scared to as well. He had been reflecting upon some words that our mission president said as he left the field and asked him specifically how to be a good father. Our mission president looked him in the eyes and said, love your wife. I thought that was powerful because i have seen my husbands love change me for the better this past year and I am sure if we had children they would be watching with their little eyes to see how daddy treated mommy. Conference reiterated that principle as well. How blessed we are to have a prophet and apostles on the earth! Mr. Beeb and I thoroughly enjoyed conference. Mr. Beeb's favorite talk was the one by Elaine S. Dalton that spoke of the principle i discussed earlier. However, we both felt a little smack on the cheeks with Elder Neil L. Anderson's talk...Children...needless to say we are now contemplating the whens.

We also felt this month that we were able to be a helping hand to the lord. The first took place at Joy luck, a favorite restaurant of ours, the second with some of our best friends. It was so nice to be needed by the lord, and used in a specific time and place. We both have missed that from our missions, and felt like it healed a piece of our hearts.

Mr. Beeb would also like me to report the 4-runner has some new studly tires, and everyone that is around will have to come see.

Next up our anniversary! What a fun week this has been! I took the day off and Mr. Beeb was able to work an earlier shift ( thank you brother for doing that) We spent the whole day together after 2:30! It was fantastic, seeing as how we are not able to see much of each other. Mr. Beeb got home and we rushed to see the Help, if you have not seen it, we highly recommend it! next adventure was dress shopping for Brother B's wedding... and we scored! 12$ at ross! Love that place, then we came home and made our traditional anniversary dinner ( which began on our Hunnies moon) the dinner consists of: Cabbage, onion, garlic salt, squash, mushrooms, rice and qinoua cooked in chicken broth, and some hamburger. Then we mix it all into a pile of mush and chow...it went into our belly's SOOO nicely. This was served on our wedding china ( thanks ky) with candles galore! It was fabulous. Our anniversary fell on a wed so that was all we did till this weekend when we came up to the Homestead resort in midway Utah! So far we have had free breakfast ( included in the package), soaked and swam in the "crater" which really wasn't caused by a meteor, it is a 5billion year old natural spring that was like old-faithful, but lost its umpffhhh. Now it is the prettiest warmest swimming pool right smack dab in the middle of a cave! That was a blast! Then we went for a drive up into the mountains to see the pretty fall colors and enjoy the fresh air, and went to dinner at a recommended Spanish restaurant called " Tarahumara"...it was splendidly scrumptious...they had a mango pineapple salsa that was to die for!

Last adventure to add to our adventure book was Brother B's wedding'. They looked stunning, the service was stellar, and the reception had a great turn out! Congrats to the newest addition of the Tobler clan! Whooot! hope you guys have a blast on your honey moon!

All in all the month of October has been blissful. I love being married to my best friend! below are some pics from the day!
These little paintings were all over this cute little danish town.

Waiting for dinner...mmmm

After a dip in the crater.

The water was so crystal clear...you could see about 40ft down

Thought this would be a good pic, this is the cave where you take a swim...on each side of the deck there are "hot tubs"...so fun!

My cute hubs...snorkeling away!

He got a little confused...fins and goggles in the water babe.

September colors

As the September wind colors the autumn air we have been standing still watching the colors change around us. Change is not always a simple thing, but it IS always a good thing, and there has been a lot of things changing around us. The first our primary calling! What a blessing it has been to be able to be in the primary already! Mr. Beeb and I are feeling that this is a preparatory calling one that is helping us grow together, one that is helping us teach children, and one that is bringing us closer to one another by studying, learning, and being more prayerful. And those little kids are teaching US so much. Things like what it means to be humble, what it means to be prayerful, how a child looks at life through such small eyes, and how to be bold. I have a story to Illustrate the boldness factor.

We have in our little class many different children...three of whom were in class on this specific Sunday. Our lesson was on loving one another, just like Christ loves all of us. I was telling a story to illustrate this and asked the kids what to name the people in the story as I was telling it. The only girl in the class piped up...you should name the girl after me...we will call her ally. So I continued the story " One day ally was walking home from school and this boy was being mean to her..." At that point "ally" piped in...we should name him after a boy who has a crush on me...he is mean to me to...lets name him Easton!...just as "Ally" was saying this a tiny little timid boy on the farthest seat away from "ally" raised his hand and said with all the courage he could muster..."or his name could be Sam"...

Mr Beeb lost it and i continued the story quickly ending that part of it, knowing that Sam just admitted his undying love for Aly in the boldest way he knew how! (names changed for security of the little ones.)

The change we have also been experiencing involves a new semester, which means a schedule change at work, which means seeing less and less of each other. That has been hard. We went from spending every morning together until 1 in the afternoon when we both went to work. To my getting up at 5, leaving to work at 6 and not getting home till 4, when Mr. Beeb has already left for work 2 hours ago and wont be home till 10:30 when I am at home...sometimes already asleep. It is good to know that this is only for a small amount of time, but it is still hard missing your best friend everyday until the weekends, which are our saving grace!

School has been fantastic so far however, and I am very excited about this semester. I have some fantastic professors and am taking classes that are so interesting to me! Plus, I know what i am studying really counts toward what I am going into, so it makes it that much more fun. Needless to say, with all the recent changes, a mini vacation was just what the doctor ordered! Labor day weekend was such a blast! We went camping with the Tobler family from Friday till Sunday, came home, had a dinner with some friends...The Browns and slept over at the Toblers that evening. The next morning (Monday) was a busy one. We started off the week with a hike up Adams canyon (where over a year ago I was proposed to by my best friend) with Mr. Beebs brother, his fiancee, and a long time ol' buddy of Mr. Beebs who surprised us on the way up! The hike began at 6:30 am. we were done around 9. We then went back to the Toblers to help paint, but we weren't there long because I remembered about some math quizzes that were due that day and I had to get them done. On our way home to do the quizzes My mom called. " Hey Mr. Heusser, Little bro, and I are getting ready to go shooting..you wanna go..?" Beebs face lit up like a fire work, and I knew we weren't getting out of it. So we went shooting, came home and were gone. Despite the business of that weekend it was nice to be together with the ones we love...especially one another! Hope your September winds are as colorful as ours are beginning to be! Enjoy the pics below.

The fam. sitting around the campfire on a lovely morning..you can't really tell, but the backdrop is the beautiful reservoir!

On the way home...exhausted..but enjoying one another like crazy!

My beautiful mother...hahahahah!

Beeb, Mr. and Mrs. Heusser shooting all the targets the boys so joyfully set up!

Look at that stud muffin'!..he was quite impeccable with a shot gun! 5/6 clay pigeons were blown to pieces by his skills!

Our expressions of Love

Today I watched the sweetest thing of all time on Lds.org...the link is posted above. It was a video with some words from E. Scott about expressions of love toward one another more specifically in a marital relationship. This little video sparked a reminder of what I have been feeling all month and basically since we met for my man and I just wanted to share what some of our expressions of love are.

Things Phillip does for me:
  • Cleans the house
  • Smooches and cuddles
  • Smiles when I am grumpy
  • Flowers to make the day a little brighter
  • Gifts...even when It's not my birthday
  • Tells me he loves me several times a day.
  • Calls to check up on me, or tell me exciting things about his day.
  • Puts my favorite smelling cologne on because he knows i will notice.
  • Shaves and then comes to smooch my face until I notice, then giggles when he sees the light bulb turn on and I have realized just exactly what he is doing.
  • Takes care of the small and simple things around the house such as our bird, watering the plants or the garden, starting loads of laundry, mopping the floor so it sparkles, etc.
  • Makes me laugh till I cry...as well as make my "ugly laugh"
  • Is a worthy priesthood holder and continues to strive and improve himself by living the gospel and being the best he can be.
  • Uplifts me when I am sad, angry or hurt.
  • Spoils me rotten on my birthday!
  • Pretends to be so upset when I tell him " you are in SO much trouble Mr."
  • Has a childlike attitude about everything that makes our everyday seem like an adventure.
  • Picks up the pieces when I forget to
  • Is a very attentive listener
  • Gives very good advice even when It is hard to hear sometimes, but I know it is the best thing.
  • Is a romantic heart and does whatever he can to sweep me off my feet!
  • Writes me love notes randomly that brighten my day
  • And finally Does not judge me or criticize me for being who I am, he loves me regardless of my imperfections and weaknesses and loves me with out holding back!
These are just of the few of Many things he does for me on a constant basis! Now as for a list of what I do for him...well this will be much shorter...because It is from my end of things ( I will have him get on here and make his own list.)

Things I do for My Man:
  • Make him nice meals to come home to...I learned from a wise woman on my mission something that I have loved ever since I heard it "When I make dinner for my family I want them to feel like they are going out to eat at the nicest restaurant so nothing else will compare to meals at home." I know Mr. Beeb would rather have me cook something for him than go out to eat..most meals anyway...but sometimes we are both dying for a quick meal and out to eat it is :)
  • Fold his laundry and put it away
  • Clean the house when life is not too crazy, but picking up when It is.
  • When he has had bad days at work I surprise him with fun things at home so when he walks through the door he forgets and can be at peace in his own home.
  • Little things like simple I love you's, cuddles, smooches...ect.
  • Picking him up when he is down
  • Giggling with him every night
  • Keeping him on his toes when he least expects it with the little naughty streak that i inherited in my genes.
  • Listening when he needs my ears
  • Advising when he needs advice
  • Noticing when I am not my beset and apologizing for my bad behavior and grumpy selfishness
  • Getting him things that light up his face and bring out the childish excitement that I love to see.
  • Loving him for who he is and letting him know it everyday!
Something I think that resembles our love would be our garden. It grows with everyday as we nourish and strengthen it and each other. Sometimes outside forces try to get in the way like weeds that grow, eat our tomatoes just like the deer have done, but we know that together we are stronger than the outside forces and we always try to put each other first and help one another if those things seem to get in the way or break us down.

I am very grateful to have such a loving, caring, and courageous husband. And I am so excited to continue to learn more about him, grow closer to him, and continue these simple expressions of our love over the many years to come! Love you baby! Thanks for being my best friend.

More garden yummies

Drn' Deer!

Massive 5 Pt. Buck in our garden....Grrrrrrr!
So we have been very successful with our garden this year...however...something just keeps eating the tops of our tomato plants so we only have one baby tomato on all the 6 plants we have. At first we thought it was snails or rabbits or something because there was no foot prints in the garden up until about 2 weeks ago...then I saw it...the first deer hoof print in the garden and today the little bugger decided to show himself. He was not even trying to be sneaky at all! We had to scare him out of the yard and are hoping he does not come back, but our garden is delish...and If he shows up again I don't blame him!! I told Phillip however to memorize his face so he can get him in the hunt that way...we are just feeding our own dinner! hahahah! Drn' Deer!

Snapshots and tidbits

Uncle Poco Gang... first ride of the day
Last weekend was SuCh a BLAST! My moms Brother and Family came down to enjoy the wonders of Utah one and only amusement park. L.A.G.O.O.N!!! Earlier that morning we went to the bountiful temple and learned some powerful lessons about the plan of salvation as well as the influence of fear in our lives. What an Incredible thing the temple is! The gospel is perfect and makes so much sense. We are grateful to have such a blessing of the gospel in our lives.  We got to the park around 11 and right away were in line for the haunted house from that point we were running around hitting all the rides we could as fast as we could. Surprisingly enough the lines were not long at all. Wicked was most everyone's  favorite ride by far even for the little girl below, she was so brave and wanted to go on all of the coolest rides in the park. Aunt Julies favorite was the good ol' white roller coaster. It was such a fun day the only water ride we waited in line for was the log flume 1 hour and 30 min wait!!! can you believe it! That is where the long lines were...in the water rides. Here are some snap shots of the days adventures! We sure love our family and are very grateful we got to spend some time with them!

Little Becks on the swing

The cute little love birds..I think they said its 20 years this year! and they are still so in love.

Becks and I waiting for the swings to start

Con-man and "T" lounging over the world of lagoon.

Mr. Beeb was  sooooo Hot...this was his idea of cooling off.

Look who followed behind him!!

What a handsome fella!
Hope you all are having a fantastic summer!!! I know we sure are!

"Snyders special"

AH....just finished the last final for summer semester. I only took two classes so I could still have a life this summer with my man, but I definitely spent quite a bit of time on these courses. The first one was Nutrition 1010 and boy did I learn a lot about my eating habits that is less than desirable! Mr. Beeb and I actually went vegan for a while to clear out our system of un-needed fats and cholesterol, however It seemed we were not getting enough protein so that plan is on hold for a while until we can really figure out how to get enough of all the nutrients we need then we will dive back into it again, our bodies absolutely loved it!  The other class was a genealogy class and boy was I surprised at how hard that class was. There was a LARGE amount of time spent learning about the tools and researching the family. Look at all that I have accomplished for my final project, 4 generations!! and...there is more but that will continue to be a work in progress.
Here is what I have been working on the last month!
It is a fulfilling thing to know about those who have gone before you. Their struggles are your struggles, their triumphs are yours and whatever hard things they made it through make you feel that much stronger. I was listening to general conference from 2010 today and Elder Russel M. Nelson had this today about genealogy work which I found soothing to the soul. "When our hearts turn to our ancestors, something changes inside us. We feel part of something greater than ourselves." This work is greater than ourselves and the thing is, you learn so much about yourself when learning about those who have gone before you! Here is a story I learned about my Great Grandmother Vera Allred Brinkerhoff enjoy!...I especially loved the part about the panties! hahah!
Really fuzzy picture but this is My Great Grandmother Vera Allred Brinkerhoff
Vera Allred Brinkerhoff (2-6) 1902-1990
(Daughter of Edward Warren Allred and Rebecca Alvrean Lemmon Allred)

In Vera's own words she stated that her parents went to Wyoming from Southern Utah because of drought and because her father's brother and mother were already living there.

Vera remembered, "We traveled in a covered wagon, mother and five children rode while father walked. (Mother was pregnant with me at the time.) Along the journey, one day, something startled the horses and they began to run. Father tried calming them and running after them. When he realized that he couldn't catch them and mother was in trouble, Father fell to his knees and said, 'Dear Father, please save my family." Suddenly the horses stopped and no one was hurt. They reached Lovell, Wyoming in June and I was born on December 28, 1902.
Since some of the older brothers and sisters worked away from home, I helped father in the fields. After harvest one year he gave me $10.00. I was delighted and sent away in a catalog for a coat and skirt for myself, and a potato masher, egg beater, 4 loaf pans, and some curtain rods for my mother (before this our curtains were put up with string). All this for $10. I was delighted.

We grew and stored our own food. Mother made most of our clothes so it wasn't a surprise to have our panties made from old flour sacks. The printing on the sacks didn't wash out and we would tease each other that our panties said, "Snyder's Special" or "Money back if your not satisfied".

I was a fast runner and always ran the races on the 24th of July. One holiday dad gave us each 50 cents to celebrate the day. I lost mine down the crack in the board sidewalk. I crawled down under but never found it, so I won some races and earned my money back.

I wasn't afraid of spiders, mice, or little water snakes, but Chasty my sister was afraid of everything. I would chase her with a mouse holding it barely above her hair. She would holler "Vera, I'm going to kill you". We had a lot of fun in our family. We were very musical, we played ball games, swam in the canal and river, and danced.

I met Max Shields at a dance and we were married Nov. 22, 1922 by H. Cash Carlton. My first home as a wife was a tent, then into an little shack, where my first cupboard was a box nailed to the wall. Max was not a member of the church and over time we were incompatible, later we divorced. We had one child, Maxine. My little daughter and I lived with my parents.

When our neighbor's wife Josephine Clark Brinkerhoff died, the whole town mourned her passing. I remember the hearse going through town on Christmas Eve amid the shoppers. I helped my widowed neighbor and his daughter with the large family. We canned, baked and sewed. Josephine left him with 11 children; six of whom still lived at home. This name was Warren Brinkerhoff and we were married in July of 1926. He was 18 years older than me. We had ten children of our own. All of our children were born at home except for the last two little girls, they were born in a hospital costing $35 each. We had lots of good times, and some bad times.

Total, Warren was the father of 21 children. He died on April 1 , 1949. Our farm was not paid for and we had no insurance but the children all pitched in and we made it work. Three of my sons filled missions and all are sealed in the temple. While Warren was living we were never sealed in the temple, so 37 years after his death our family made the decision to be sealed in the Salt Lake Temple by Elder H. Burke Peterson on April 3, 1986. I had lost my oldest daughter Maxine and my son Ellis. Ellis's wife Maxine stood in for my daughter Maxine, and my son-in-law Chris Simonsen stood in for my son Ellis. My step-son Lavel Brinkerhoff stood in proxy for his father, my husband Warren. It was a wonderful day, now all my children and I are sealed for eternity."

Singing was important to Vera. She loved to hear her children sing and insisted upon it whenever there was a get-together. She had a beautiful alto voice. Gardening was a great joy for her. She enjoyed giving produce away, canning and working with plants. She had boundless energy. You could always get something to eat at Vera's. Her children would tell you that if she asked for something to be done, it should have been yesterday. She was stubborn and determined; she had to be.

Vera Allred Brinkerhoff lived a long and fruitful life. She was a stalwart to her family keeping them close to her and each other. There was a lot of love in her home. She passed away on June 8, 1990 at her home in Lovell, Wyoming. She is interred in the Lovell Cemetery next to her husband Warren and his first wife, Josephine Clark Brinkerhoff. -autobiographical with additions by Glenda Asay and Karen Simonsen, her daughters.
